Location: O’Kelly Chapel at For Garden’s Sake, 9197 NC-751, Durham, NC 27713 – Parking at the garden center!
Step into O’Kelly Chapel for an evening of creativity, plants, and the beautiful art of kokedama. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the traditional Japanese technique of creating a living plant arrangement with a ball of soil wrapped in moss—a unique way to bring greenery into your home without a traditional pot.
Your evening will begin with Persian tea, traditional cookies, and fruit while your instructor demonstrates the process from start to finish, sharing techniques and inspiration for creating your own kokedama. Then, you’ll have the opportunity to get hands-on and make your own living creation to take home, with all materials and supplies provided.
Fee is $95/person and includes:
- Hands-on kokedama workshop and demonstration
- All materials and supplies
- Persian tea
- Traditional cookies and fresh fruit
- Beer, wine, and snacks available for purchase.
Come spend a tranquil evening surrounded by plants, learn the art of kokedama, and leave with a beautiful living creation of your own.
