We are seeking an experienced Retail Garden Center Manager to step into our vibrant world, where nature and commerce intertwine. In this pivotal role, you will orchestrate daily operations and utilize your innate leadership skills to nurture both people and sales/profitability. With your passion for plants and people, you will build and lead a talented team, cultivating a culture where every customer leaves with not just a purchase, but a piece of their own garden oasis. Work days are 8:45am – 5:00pm with one required weekend day and split days off. The workweek averages 40 hours.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Employee Management and Training (40%)
- Be directly involved in helping us build and train a top-notch team
- Motivate, challenge, and reward individual team members to maximize sales, productivity, and profitability
- Implement training programs focused on customer service, product knowledge, and added value selling
- Create and update weekly work schedules according to labor/budget goals
- Implement and oversee daily workflows and plant care schedules
- Conduct annual employee performance evaluations to support professional development
- Merchandising and Store Management (25%)
- Guide purchasing decisions to maintain the correct inventory mix and levels according to departmental goals
- Coordinate with owners and Department Leads to organize and facilitate seasonal changes of retail items
- Maintain pricing policies for all retail products and services
- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the garden center, ensuring a clean and inviting atmosphere
- Collaborate with Department Leads to ensure all plants and products meet or exceed quality standards
- Sales and Customer Service (20%)
- Direct and oversee customer service initiatives, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and engagement
- Address customer service issues promptly and effectively, representing the company’s values
- Assist customers with plant selection and provide expert plant knowledge as needed
- Financial Oversight (15%)
- Assist in the development of weekly, monthly, and yearly operating budgets
- Direct and manage the retail team to achieve sales and profit goals for each department
REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid driver’s license with no major MVR infractions
- Proven experience in retail management and supervising employees, preferably in a garden center or related environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and inventory control
- Passion for horticulture and a strong knowledge of plants and gardening products
- Teamwork mindset and willingness to be flexible and jump in where needed to assist
- Proficiency in POS systems and Google suite
- Ability to safely lift 50+ pounds and perform physical tasks, including prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, and walking on gravel and slopping ground

We are seeking an experienced Crew Lead to lead our Landscape crew in the installation of beautiful, design-build landscape projects. Our crews take landscapes to the next level by bringing custom designs to life: planting gorgeous greenery, building beautiful patios and stone walls, installing irrigation and lighting, and everything in between. Our company’s success relies on our crew’s ability to meet or exceed daily production goals, so the Crew Lead will manage the crews from project start to finish. The ideal candidate has a passion for landscaping and is hard working, detail-oriented, communicative, and works with integrity and professionalism.
This is a full-time year-round position paying $22-25, with weekly pay. Work day is 6:40 AM to variable end time (usually around 4:00 PM) Monday through Friday. Work week averages 40-45 hours with paid overtime. Saturday work is rare and we never work on Sundays or holidays.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
**NOTE: This is NOT a lawn maintenance role (no mowing, blowing, trimming, etc.)
- Oversee and assist in the implementation of hardscape and softscape installations
- Lead and supervise a team of crew members, promoting a positive work environment
- Develop, train, and mentor crew members, promoting safety and efficiency
- Plan and phase job sites to ensure all work is completed on schedule and meets quality standards
- Communicate with clients, contractors, management, and staff to ensure project expectations are met
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise on-site
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and hours worked
- Assist in procuring materials essential for fluidity of installation as needed
- Operate, maintain, and, on occasion, repair large equipment (trucks, trailers, loaders, and dingos) and landscaping tools
- Work closely with a team to accomplish a common goal, while producing a superior product that enhances our customers’ lifestyle
REQUIREMENTS:
- MUST have a valid driver’s license with no major MVR infractions
- Previous professional landscaping experience, with leadership/supervisory experience preferred
- Previous installation experience pertaining to planting, low-voltage lighting, hardscaping, irrigation and drainage work
- Ability to read and interpret landscape plans and designs
- Thorough plant knowledge and identification ability
- Ability to lead, motivate, and train team members
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate equipment proficiently and safely
- Capacity to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Bilingual (Spanish and English) a plus
- Licensing and Certifications relative to industry a plus
We are seeking experienced Installation Landscapers to join our team. Our crews take landscapes to the next level by bringing custom designs to life: planting gorgeous greenery, building beautiful custom paver and stone designs, installing irrigation and lighting, and everything in between. The ideal candidates have a passion for landscaping and are hard working, team players, detail-oriented, and work with integrity and professionalism.
This is a full-time year-round position paying $16-21/hour (non-driver), $18-21/hour (driver), $20-24/hour (mason), with weekly pay. Work day is 6:55 AM to variable end time (usually around 4:30 PM) Monday through Friday. Work week averages 45 hours with paid overtime. Saturday work is rare and we never work on Sundays or holidays.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Plant shrubs, trees, flowers, and install sod
- Install and repair drainage, irrigation, landscape lighting, and other site amenities
- Assist with constructing hardscapes: stone & paver patios, retaining walls, edging, steppers, dry creek beds, etc.
- Operate large machinery (trucks/trailers, loaders, and dingos) and bed edgers, sod cutters, stone saws, etc.
- Routinely interact with clients and crew members in a professional manner
- Produce a superior product that enhances our customers’ lifestyle

REQUIREMENTS:
- MUST have a valid driver’s license with no major MVR infractions
- Previous experience in landscaping: planting, tree and hedge pruning, lighting, irrigation and drainage work
- Experience with irrigation and landscape lighting a plus
- Experience in masonry or hardscaping a plus
- Ability to operate equipment proficiently and safely
- Ability to perform physical work in outdoor conditions, both hot and cold
- Physical capability to lift greater than 50 lbs.

We are seeking an experienced Landscape Designer to create, showcase, and sell both residential and commercial landscape designs. This person will work alongside our clients and team members to create a design that best caters to the client’s needs and desires. We’re looking to add another in-house designer whose design style aligns with our established aesthetic and the type of work we specialize in.
This is a full-time position paying $50K+ salary plus commission (estimated $30K+ first year). RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct on-site client consultations to provide design solutions and recommendations
- Generate landscape designs utilizing AutoCAD, including softscaping, hardscaping, lighting, and drainage
- Create design proposals and cost estimates for residential and commercial properties based on accurate field measurements and analyses
- Serve as a primary contact for clients to foster relationships and close sales
- Heavy focus on designing, client consultations, site visits, and revisions. Position supported by a sales and administrative team.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid driver’s license with no major infractions
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in landscape architecture or landscape design, or a demonstrated depth of horticulture knowledge from prior landscape design experience
- Professional industry experience creating landscape and hardscape designs
- Knowledge of horticultural materials suitable for North Carolina and proper planting techniques
- Strong understanding of landscape construction products, methods, and procedures, including softscapes, hardscapes, grading, drainage, irrigation, and lighting
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; additional experience with Adobe Suite or 3D modeling programs a plus
- Tech/computer proficiency and willingness to learn; familiarity with Google Suite and LMN estimating software a plus
- Proven proficiency in increasing sales through lead generation and client relationships
- Friendly, confident, and professional demeanor with a natural ability for cultivating positive relationships
- Strong willingness, drive, and proactive approach to reach and exceed individual and company goals
