Saturday, August 1st @ 10am-11:30am
Location: Robin’s Nest
Join us for an exciting, interactive event where you’ll learn how to build a thriving bioactive terrarium! Whether you’re a houseplant fanatic, a reptile enthusiast, or just love a cool DIY project, this class will give you the blueprint to create something magical.
Why Bioactive?
Unlike traditional setups, a bioactive terrarium utilizes live plants, fungi, and a “clean-up crew” of tiny invertebrates (like isopods and springtails) to break down waste naturally. It’s nature’s very own recycling system—meaning less cleaning for you and a healthier environment for plants and pets!
The Class
Instructor AJ Hallatt, Co-Founder of BeWild Reptile Rescue, will take you step-by-step through the science and artistry of bioactive setups as she assembles a new terrarium. You’ll get an up-close look at a fully built-out, mature terrarium to see exactly how these ecosystems flourish over time.
We’ll wrap up with a ‘Meet the Animals’ session in the final half-hour. AJ will introduce us to some incredible live rescue animals from BeWild. You’ll get to see firsthand the exact types of critters that thrive in these incredible bioactive habitats.
Space is limited. Register early!
Fee is $25/person. Fee includes the terrarium demonstration and Meet the Animals session, a small gift, and a coupon to shop at For Garden’s Sake. Net proceeds support BeWild Reptile Rescue.
Instructor: AJ Hallatt, Co-Executive Director and Co-Founder of BeWild Reptile Rescue
