Landscape Sales Rep

The Position

For Garden’s Sake is a family-owned garden center and landscaping company, in operation since 1999. We are continually growing, and offer customers a one-stop shop for plants, landscape design/installation, and lawn maintenance services.

We are seeking a Landscape Sales Rep to focus on small and medium sized landscape installation projects. This person will meet with clients, discuss needs and desires for the projects, and create proposals for enhancements to the existing landscapes. The main goal is to build a rapport with clients and produce design plans that will both wow them and be profitable for our company. (Our resident goats, chickens, and ducks are always available to bounce ideas off of, and our beautiful grounds make for great inspirational strolls.)

This is a full-time, in-person position with base salary $52,000 annually plus commission and incentives ($70K+ possible). We offer PTO and paid holidays; medical, dental, and vision insurance; life insurance; matching 401k; employee discount at the Garden Center; and work-life balance. 


  • Screen service requests received via email, phone, referrals
  • Schedule appointments and conduct on-site client consultations
  • Prepare estimates and basic design sketches
  • Close sales and coordinate handoffs to the Landscape Division for production
  • Build client relationships and sell project add-ons
  • Visit sites during installation to provide guidance to crews as needed

Key Skills & Requirements

  • Experience generating leads and working directly with potential and existing clients
  • Proven track record of obtaining business and increasing sales
  • Basic knowledge of/experience with landscape installation projects (workflow, supplies, techniques, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of/experience with NC plants and horticultural materials, proper planting methods, and care needs; hardscape knowledge/experience a plus
  • Tech/computer proficiency and willingness to learn; familiarity with Google Suite and LMN estimating software a plus
  • Strong go-getter drive to reach and exceed individual and company goals
  • Superb attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Friendly, genuine, confident, and professional demeanor,  with a knack  for building positive relationships quickly
  • Valid driver’s license with no major infractions
